We are getting closer, Santa will be here soon! Have you sent him your wishlist? If you have missed the Husqvarna Viking® Gift Guide, I have added it here, it is fun and easy, create your own wishlist and send it to your facebook page, your blog or as an email. Click here to find it.

In the Husqvarna Viking® Gift Guide, we have a Baby Hat pattern that you can download. Click here for the printable  pattern and click  here  for the sewing instruction.

See how cute little Freja is in the hat made in Fleece!

Note: On this little hat we did only fold the edge inside and used an overlock stitch on the sewing machine to finish the edge! Remember with sewing nothing is wrong- it will only be uniqué.

I have decorated my home here in China a little bit. See my pictures how it did turn out. One Swedish Santa in China and my Dimentional Decorations. Happy with how they turned out.

On Sunday I will fly back to Sweden with my daughter. Back in the office next week to see what they are up to. I will let you know!

Happy Sewing!

Creative wrap for a gift!

July 28, 2012, Posted in Downloads, Embroidery, Inspiration, SewFun! Blog by  Lena Kantis

My colleague Erika, was going to give a present to a newlywed couple. In Sweden we do normally wrap the gift in paper as the gift bags are not available in all stores yet. The only paper she had at home was decorated for kids. What to do?

If you have the possibility to embroider a piece of fabric, you can wrap it in a fabric of your choice and use any embroidery! Here is the fabric Erika decorated for the gift.

The kiss embroidery is coming from the Husqvarna Viking® Designer Ruby™ love theme!

It is available to download here:

Fun dishcloth for Easter.

May 6, 2011, Posted in Downloads, Embroidery, Home Dec, Inspiration by  Lena Kantis

I have for a long time been thinking of sewing embroideries on a dishcloth. I find it is very fun to try out new things! I bought a package with four dishcloths with no decorations. The embroidery was created using the HUSQVARNA VIKING® 5D™ Embroidery Extra. I used the Express Design Wizard and the option to fit to rectangle. It is very good when you want the embroidery to fit a certain size. There are over 325 nice pictures to choose from when you want to create your own embroideries. The font is one of the pre-digitized fonts in the category: Decorative, and the name of the font is Swirl. When you start the embroidery use the pictogram pen or fabric marker to make a little mark in the center both horizontally and vertically. Then when you start your embroidery make sure it is lined up with the center markings of the hoop. Picture is showing center lines and how to line up the dishcloth. Here is the embroidery if you want to make your own dishcloth or use the embroidery on something else, towel, gift bag or what ever you like! Download the design file here! Now I will put this in the office kitchen to be used by me and my colleagues. Happy Sewing! If you have any questions regarding the topic of the week, please contact:

Ideas for Christmas Cards & Christmas Gifts.

December 10, 2010, Posted in Downloads, Embroidery, Inspiration by  Lena Kantis

Now it is time to get sewing the Holiday gifts, I guess that you might have started! I wanted to share a few sewing ideas that we are working on in Huskvarna. Especially since it’s not only me, doing sewing projects, we are several. I thought you might want to see what we are sewing!

Anders, who works in our company as a Systems Engineer, is going to sew sweatshirts and trousers for his two boys, age 4 and 2. Here is a picture of him drawing the patterns.  Next week you will be able to see more of the development of this project.

I have embroidered a Christmas Card. Here is the card that I will send to my friends.

I have used the HUSQVARNA VIKING® Design Collection # 163, “Dimensional Decorations”. I cut the embroidery design so it’s one single “Christmas goat” and it’s embroidered with only two colors.

Note: If you bring it into the embroidery software, do not color sort as it has stitching lines for the appliqué. Black flannel was used as the background fabric, and I had a scrap piece of cotton fabric for the “Christmas Goat”.

Another great sewing project using the “Christmas Goat”, could be to sew potholders.

You can download the design file here.

My little nephew Kevin, wish to get several small things for Christmas presents. Hair styling products, shower gel etc. I bought a toilet bag for him, that was looking nice, and to make it more personal I added his name. I made the name by using the Monogram Wizard in 5D™ Embroidery software.

Next week you will be able to download the last instruction from the holiday campaign Sew a Holiday Ready Home! the “Christmas Lace Ornaments” and we will also open up the Sewers Choice! upload, where you will be able to become sewers top 10 ranked or one of my own 3 Favorite picks. So don’t forget to continue sew all these great holiday stuff too!

Until next week I wish you all a Happy Sewing!
