Santa Claus is coming to town!

December 14, 2012, Posted in Downloads, Embroidery, Home Dec, Inspiration, Overlock, Seasonal, SewFun! Blog by  Lena Kantis

We are getting closer, Santa will be here soon! Have you sent him your wishlist? If you have missed the Husqvarna Viking® Gift Guide, I have added it here, it is fun and easy, create your own wishlist and send it to your facebook page, your blog or as an email. Click here to find it.

In the Husqvarna Viking® Gift Guide, we have a Baby Hat pattern that you can download. Click here for the printable  pattern and click  here  for the sewing instruction.

See how cute little Freja is in the hat made in Fleece!

Note: On this little hat we did only fold the edge inside and used an overlock stitch on the sewing machine to finish the edge! Remember with sewing nothing is wrong- it will only be uniqué.

I have decorated my home here in China a little bit. See my pictures how it did turn out. One Swedish Santa in China and my Dimentional Decorations. Happy with how they turned out.

On Sunday I will fly back to Sweden with my daughter. Back in the office next week to see what they are up to. I will let you know!

Happy Sewing!

Amazing Yarn Art!

December 8, 2012, Posted in Accessories, Design Collection, Embroidery, SewFun! Blog by  Lena Kantis

This ia a new special Design Collection from Husqvarna Viking®  # 252 Yarn Art!

It has got a total of 37 embroideries, and many of those are possible to combine, even around corners. It is embroidered by using the Husqvarna Viking® accessory; The Yarn Couching Feet Set.

In the booklet you can see how to combine embroideries to create a poncho. Other ideas of what those embroideries can be used for:  A bag with decorations on the front and on the handle, pop-up brooches, edgings for garments or home decorations. It is very much up to your imagination where to add them! With other words- unlimited options! Here are some pictures of our sewing samples.

Before I moved I was embroidering a poncho in turqouise on my Husqvarna Viking® Designer Diamond deLuxe. It was hilarious to see how I had embroideries all over, in water, hanging to dry etc.

The yarn I used, was a 100% wool. For other embroideries, we did use cotton, that was a bit thicker but still not too big to fit in the Yarn couching Feet. My tip is to bring the Yarn couching Feet set to the shop, when you are buying the yarn. I did try the size of the yarn before I bought it, and do make sure it is not to ”fluffy”, it could be tangled if it is.

Small things like the flower and leaf decoration, you can make as a Christmas Gift and if you love embroidery, why not add the  design collection on your own wishlist?

The new Husqvarna Viking® 5D™Stitch Editor Plus.

November 5, 2012, Posted in Embroidery, Embroidery Software, Inspiration, SewFun! Blog by  Lena Kantis

I am and have always been a big fan of the Stitch Editor module. Why- because it allows to alter an embroidery design a lot very quickly.

The 5D™ STITCH EDITOR PLUS is the latest addition to the 5D™ Embroidery System, now allowing you to reshape and restyle your embroideries with object editing features! Emboss your own ideas with personal stamps.

Find all information at: http://www.hv.5dembroiderysystem.com/

Here are some pictures I took at the photographers studio. The two boys are Kasper and Hampus, and they are wearing the pyjamas with the fun robots , that were created in the new 5D™ Stitch Editor Plus.

One new top feature is the possibility to change object fill! That is what I did when I created this design by cutting away a few things, and then changing the ordinary fill of the petals into satin area. Quick and easy! All designs on our packages and material can be found in the Stitch Editor sample folder! You can stitch them out to see how wonderful they are!

Visit the website http://5dlearningcenter.com/ to see the videos with my colleagues Janie and Jamie, showing you the main new features!

Happy Sewing!

“Sew” much more time to sew!

October 16, 2012, Posted in Embroidery, Inspiration, Overlock, Quilting by  Lena Kantis

First project has now been started! I did only bring two summer dresses to China, as I planned for cold weather. I am not used to have warm temperatures in October. Here is still summer! Anyhow that is why I decided to sew a dress to wear now.My new cutting table is one of the kitchen counters which has got perfect height.

I love the fabric, and of course I have washed it before I get started. Sewing most of the dress on my Husqvarna Viking® overlock machine does make this a quick project.

I did have one nearly finished halloween project too, a very small wall hanging. I will only add the backside fabric and quilt stitch it. The black fabric for the little quilt is now in the washing machine. I will get that done tomorrow!

If you are looking for making some small Halloween projects, why not embroider the new Inspira®
#116 Halloween Item# 620118196″, on a towel, tablecloth or sew a little mini bag that can be used when the kids are out to have fun with “trick or treat”. They are adorable!

Happy Sewing!
